Surrey Townhouse Renovation & Interior Design
Refreshing a Home Without Starting from Scratch
Located in Surrey near Scott Road, this late-1980s townhouse renovation demonstrates how thoughtful design can completely transform a home without requiring a full rebuild. The homeowners wanted to modernize their kitchen, living areas, and bathrooms while creating a space that better reflected their personality and supported the way they live every day.
Rather than replacing everything, the renovation focused on preserving what was still working while thoughtfully updating the elements that would have the greatest impact. Existing hardwood flooring was refinished and extended down the staircase into the entryway, creating a seamless visual connection that immediately makes the home feel larger and more cohesive.
The kitchen received a carefully planned refresh that balanced functionality with timeless design. Refinished cabinetry, a new Caesarstone quartz countertop, an oversized sink, updated plumbing fixtures, and a contemporary tile backsplash brought new life to the space while maximizing the value of the existing layout. Replacing the original track lighting with recessed LED lighting dramatically improved both the brightness and usability of the kitchen.
Throughout the rest of the home, updated lighting fixtures and refreshed bathrooms completed the transformation, creating interiors that feel brighter, more welcoming, and aligned with the homeowners' personal style.
This project is a reminder that successful renovations aren't always about starting over. Sometimes, understanding what to preserve is just as important as knowing what to change.
