The Burnaby Townhouse, Reimagined for Modern Life.
The Design Overview
This Burnaby couple were looking to update their home that was stuck in the past. Designed by Cameron Zainali and renovated by My House Design Build Team this 1970’s-built townhouse was in need of a transformation. The homeowners wanted to update the whole home, from their kitchen and living area to the bathrooms and bedrooms.
Design Ideas
We started in the kitchen, using light muted colours for the cabinets, a subtle but elegant herringbone tile layout for the backsplash and some contemporary lighting fixtures to create a clean and timeless look.
For the walls we kept it light and bright to help make the space feel more open and to accentuate the vaulted ceilings throughout.
The fireplace surround was the centre piece.
Bright cabinets, accented with rich walnut for the fireplace mantel, a countertop that stretched the full length, and beautiful custom bookshelves on either side of the fireplace.
The Ensuite bathroom
This space was drastically changed. From the old wallpaper, and brass finishes to rose gold finishings, recessed potlights, a quartz countertop and a larger shower. Creating an elegant and timeless space that will last forever.
